Luann was my copyeditor for a number of the earlier Guild Hunter novels. I found her notes and copyedits clear and useful, and really appreciated the style sheets she put together for each book on which she worked. She is a consummate professional.

I love working with Luann. She has copyedited several of my projects, and she’s unfailingly pleasant, professional, flexible, and she has a terrific eye for continuity, content, grammar and phrasing. I also love how she creates style sheets for both my full-length novels and my shorter works. My series is better because of her, and I thank her for it.

Laura Florand, international best-selling author of the Amour et Chocolat series

One of the hardest jobs a copyeditor can do is to get a book-length text right when there are special or exceptional rules.  There are plenty of  (but never enough) good copyeditors who are able to mostly-correctly apply a few of the standard style guides, like Words Into Type or the Chicago Manual, but very few who can thoroughly learn a really different style sheet and apply it perfectly.  Luann is one of the very few people I’ve seen do that, and she got it right the first time, and in a manuscript where she had to cope both with some unusual scientific/technical stylesheet issues, and the demanding and complicated Federal/National Security style. Furthermore, she was the only copyeditor that series ever had who meticulously checked chronology on the datelines that are a key feature of the narrative style, and caught me in more errors than I like to admit. She made me look a lot smarter than I actually am!  I would trust her — actually, I intend to request her — for any specialty copyediting job that requires the ability to learn a lot of new material quickly and apply it meticulously and accurately. So should you!

John Barnes, author of The Last President (part of the Daybreak Series), and of 30 other commercial novels

Working with Luann was an absolute delight. She was incredibly responsive and supportive, not to mention her edits refined my manuscript and gave it that professional polish it needed to make it stand out. I was impressed by the level of detail and thoughtfulness in her comments, Luann showed that she not only cared about my story, but she understood on a technical level the tone I was striving for and was instrumental in helping me get there.  She’s a true fan of the genre, and has a solid understanding of pacing, character development and style. What really stood out to me was how invested she is in her client’s success.
Upon finishing her edits, I received one of the kindest and most encouraging emails from her that I’ve ever received that included some advice on marketing and positioning the book that was key in helping me successfully pitch my book to an agent. I could not have done this without her and I’m already looking forward to having her help me copy edit the rest of my series!

My books always came back better than ever after having been in Luann’s hands for a while.  Her eagle eye made them shine!
